Mass Shootings
Mass shootings have become an ugly, devastating reality of life worldwide. There were 693 mass shootings in 2021 in the United States alone. What has become abundantly clear is that mass shootings can happen anywhere and at any time – in malls, government agencies, theaters, places of worship and schools. The chain of events has become painfully predictable. When a mass shooting occurs, politicians condemn the actions and ask for prayers. Then there are vigils and memorials and intense, passionate media coverage, which quickly fades. And the devastating mass shootings continue without anyone taking meaningful actions to prevent them in the future.
StopVi’s Patented Life-Saving Security Systems
Current efforts to stop gun violence and mass shooting include performing background checks, reducing easy access to dangerous weapons and restricting gun modifications such as large round magazines and bump stocks. These efforts have been largely ineffective in reducing gun violence and mass shootings. StopVi’s approach to curbing gun violence is similar to home burglar alarm systems. Burglar alarm systems work by sounding an alarm when a weapon is sensed inside a home or business, while the alarm is set and active. These systems contain lots of sensors that can detect motion, alerting you or your neighbors to a potential intruder.
StopVi’s security system would detect an assault-type gun from inside a facility and up to 10 feet from any restricted area entrance. However, the StopVi RFID systems would only detect a weapon and its location in restricted areas. Gun owners with weapons “Off-Site,” and out of designated restricted areas, i.e., in Public, would not be detected by StopVi’s security system.
Needed Legislation
A crucial step in the making StopVi’s life-saving security system effective is new legislation would need to be adopted that requires gun owners to exchange their current AR-15 style bolt carriers for bolt carriers that have an embedded StopVi RFID system, at no cost to the gun owner.
Equitable Solution
A complete ban on assault-type weapons would probably not be an acceptable alternative for most gun enthusiasts and the powerful National Rifle Association (NRA). StopVi’s security solution will help saves lives and it does not interfere on individual’s right to bear arms. The Washington Times has asserted that banning assault rifles would strip millions of law-abiding citizens of their Second Amendment right and have proven ineffective in reducing U.S. gun violence. StopVi’s life saving security system allows individuals to bear arms and only restricts assault style weapons from entering restricted areas such as schools, governments agencies, malls and places of worship. This equitable solution protects gun owners Second Amendment rights, while making public places safer.
